disclaimer: "Do not assume that you know everything there is to know about a writer simply because you read their weblog on a regular basis. Any judgements you make will be based on the information they have provided you about themselves, which is probably vague, incomplete or embellished." Please.
Blogging: It's Alternative Journalism at its best and an Online Diary at its simplest.
golBing:An even higher form of expression. (Yes, this is a golB!)
"Verily my Lord understands
Best the mysteries of all
That He plans to do
For verily he is full
Of knowledge and wisdom." (12:100)
The most frequent invocation of Allah's Messenger
(sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) was: "O Allah! Give to us in the world
that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save
us from the torment of the Fire."
I just feel horrible about it. My blog has been, what, my baby. For two years I worked on it, religiously wrote daily, developed the html, colored it, chanegd the colors by the season, and searched for designs, links, blog stickers, etc. It was my outlet for my thoughts, ideas, feelings, happiness, anger, joy... when something happened, I thought, "I'll blog that!".. I met and interacted with awesome people who helped me in so many ways, Owl, hemmie, baji (i aspire not only to travel to all those 28 countires like she has, but to inherit a bit of her perpetual laughter), yasminay, our neighbourhood crazy kid, Saf (and our hunt for the perfect guy for her), Binje, the icecream person, Nadia, who has one of the best forms of expression I have ever read, Suzzy, Anju, my twin-sister once upon a time, Az, with whom I even co-blogged with once, then my sister who started and I found a new side to her, one I hadn't seen or hadn't come out in daily interactions; people who read my blog and emailed me from all corners of the globe, and most of all, my noodlez - ala big sister, adviser, confidante... and friend. And I haven't even mentioned the golBolution - the revolution which changes the way we feel about blogs,
I read, learnt about and understood so many people and ideas. For the past year I sort of slid away from the blog as I got busier with University, family, and my own stuff, but I just couldn't close down the blog. It was my gateway. Closing it down now feels terrible and is probably the hardest thing to do, but Ive thought about it and recent events and I think this is the only way.
I might post my travelogue or random bits now and then, but my blog - the B. Files, B-ness blog... has retired. Adios, amigos.
ps. Do any of you ever feel that you've got a rope tied around your neck?
